Scout: Brian Pierro
Project: West River Canoe Trail
Brian started in Scouting as a Tiger Cub Scout, continued through Webelos and became a member of Troop
44 in 2006. As a member of Troop 44, he served as Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Scribe,
where he published several newsletters for the troop. Brian was also elected to the Order of the
Arrow and achieved Brotherhood status.
For his Eagle Service Project Brian improved the canoe trail at West Hill Park in Uxbridge.
Brian directed a group of Scouts and adults to clear brush, debris, and some trees that were
blocking the West River canoe trail. In addition, directional and mileage markers were placed
along the trail to guide canoers. Brian also designed a sign that described the trail, provided
safety tips, and a map of the route of the trail.
